National Institute of Science
The National Institute of Science is a nonprofit, tax-exempt national scientific organization.  This organization provides an opportunity for students and faculty members at  Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) to exchange information and present scholarly research papers in science and mathematics.  In addition, the NIS provides a forum for participants to interact and network with high school students, community groups, and other scientific organizations and institutions.  To this end, the NIS meets annually with the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor  Society (BKX), and the Brookhaven Semester Program to form a joint conference for presentation of research papers and other science-related activities
